Hi Diane
Something about Thomas Pryor rang a bell and my notes show that Thomas was the brother of my gg??xgrandmother Zenobia Odgers born 1782 in Wendron. Zenobia married Samuel Odgers in 1804 in Wendron and their daughter Zenobia Odgers and her husband Nicholas Knuckey emigrated to NZ in the 1840s

Arundel Pryor
Kay
I know this is an old message but I have only just joined up.
I have found a William PEARCE married to a Charity PRY(I)OR 5/7/1794. I believe that Charity was bap. 4/8/1766 in Sithney and her parents are Henry PRY(I)OR and Margaret.
William PEARCE married 3 times and Charity was his third wife. I have 6 children from the marriage. Between the 3 marriages there are 17 children.
My connection is with his second wife Ann VINE marr. 15/2/1783. Their daughter Miriam married John RICHARDS.
His first wife was Miriam ELLIS marr 30/9/1765.
If there is any connection would love to hear from you
Thanks
Sue

Arundel Pryor
Hi Sue
I believe we have a connection but some of my information is different from yours.
1. "Charity was bap. 4/8/1766 in Sithney and her parents are Henry PRY(I)OR and Margaret"
I have Charity's parents as Arundel Pryor and Jane Millwood.
2. "William PEARCE married 3 times and Charity was his third wife. I have 6 children from the marriage. Between the 3 marriages there are 17 children."
My William marryied two times, Charity as his first wife died 1812, and Grace Hocking was his second wife (Married 21 Aug 1813 Phillack) He was born about 1770
3. "His first wife was Miriam ELLIS marr 30/9/1765"
I have Miriam Ellis, born about 1742, as his mother and his father was also William, born abt 1738.
4. "My connection is with his second wife Ann VINE marr. 15/2/1783. Their daughter Miriam married John RICHARDS"
I have Ann Vine as the second wife but to William Snr nor William Jnr.
I have a daughter named Miriam Pearce born 1783 to William and Ann but also another daughter named Miriam Pearce born 1798 to William and Charity - what dates do you have for your Miriam.
My connection to this line is through the Pearce and Pryor family and then the Pearce's married into the ANTHONY family and that is my main line of research.
I would be glad to share any other information with you.

Charity DUNSTONE 1716
Hi!
I have a William PEARCE marrying a Charity DUNSTONE
17 June 1738 Wendron, Cornwall.
I descend from their youngest child Nicholas PEARCE
bapt. 2 May 1756 Constantine, Cornwall.
He married Jane REED 1 Mar. 1778 Constantine.
I find it strange that the name "Charity" doesn't
appear in my line.

Heather
I think your William Pearce is a different person to my William Pearce. YOur William married 3 years before mine. Perhaps they come from the same family line but a different branch or there may be no connection whatsoever. I haven't gone any further with mine at this stage.

PEARCE William
Hi! Sue & Kay,
It does get so confusing when the same names keep popping up.
But it's good to know there's a connection with our
PEARCE lines back there somewhere.
Thanks for sharing,
Heather

Re William Pearce
Hi Sue,
I have been looking at your posts about William Pearce & Charity Pryor, this William was, as you say, bap 3/12/1770 Phillack son of William Pearce & Miriam Ellis as you know she died in 1781 & he then married Ann Vine. It was William jnr who married Charity Pryor in 1794 but her parents were Arundel Pryor & Jane Millward, Charity was bap10/07/1768 Wendron. William & Charity had 7 children their son William bap 03/04/1800 Phillack married Harriet Vivian, one of their children was named Arundel Pryor Pearce so I think this gives an indication of the family line
Harriet Vivian Pearce 1825
Charity Pryor Pearce 1826
William Pearce 1828
John Vivian Pearce 1830
Arundel Pryor Pearce 1834
Mary Vivian Pearce 1836
Charlotte Pearce 1838
Vivian Pearce 1845
I have the death certificate for William Pearce born 1770 he died in 1847 & present at the death was his Grandson John Vivian Pearce who was my Great Grandfather x 2
I have found it very confusing with so many William Pearce's around but having visited the Truro records Office I hope I have managed to get it right.
Unfortunately I have not been able to find any positive info regarding William who married Miriam Ellis all it has on the marriage certificate was he was a "tinner from Gwinnear.Last edited by Enigma; 09-05-2008 at 11:53 PM. Reason: Made a mistake

My line is with William Pearce and Ann Vine. Their daughter Miriam married JOhn Richards in 1802. This Richards line is what I am following. I havent followed the Pearce path as yet but will in time.
