I don't know if this thread is still active, but I am interested if it is...

My interest is in the Birkett families of Borrowdale, including Joseph B (1755-1836) who lived at Seathwaite in Borrowdale. His son John B and then grandson Wilson B succeeded him there, farming at Seathwaite until the 1880s.

Please note that this is NOT the same as the (bigger) village/parish of Seathwaite in Lancashire. I'm doubtful whether the Borrowdale Birketts are related to the ones in Seathwaite parish.

As to Joseph's possible father and grandfather, John (1725) and William, do you have any confirmatory evidence, or know where they lived/farmed? I fear there may be some confusion over Joseph's siblings; are there perhaps two sets of John/Ann parents?
[The baptism of John in Dec 1754 is too close to that of Joseph in Mar 1755.]
The Crosthwaite parish register entries would possibly give more info - e.g. where parents lived; they do for the 17th century entries I've looked up.
