    That's a sad end for Arthur.

    Pat, if Louisa Emma is with Carl Wessman in 1911 then you will need to reconsider the death in Ipswich in 1902 for her which you mention in post #51.

    Louisa Lazenby (on censuses born St Bride) purported wife of William Lazenby, no marriage found.

    I think she was born Lazenby

    LAZENBY, LOUISA MARY, MMN MADDISON
    GRO Reference: 1839 S Quarter in THE WEST LONDON UNION Volume 02 Page 222.

    She can be found in 1841 (HO107; Piece: 726; Book: 4; Folio: 25; Page: 45)
    and 1851 (HO107; Piece: 1527; Folio: 292; Page: 10) censuses in St Bride with parents John and Charlotte and siblings John, Edwin, and Emma, all except Louisa are born in Hull Yorkshire.

    1861, Louisa is living 30, Greek St. Ancestry has transcribed her as "Louisa Larpenbey 21"
    RG 9; Piece: 174; Folio: 9; Page: 17 Greek St is the address on Arthur's birth cert.

    1871: Born St Bride (married) address: 11, Blue Cross St, with Arthur age 10 and Louisa Emma 5.
    RG10; Piece: 358; Folio: 42; Page: 5;
    See #46 - there's a newspaper article mentioning a Henry Ashford living 11, Blue Cross St

    1881, born St Brides, address: 2, Larcom St, Newington. RG10; Piece: 358; Folio: 42; Page: 5;
    William Lazenby 47, bookseller, Ipswich Suffolk; Louisa M 40, St Brides; Louisa E 15, Westminster; Henry 4, Lambeth; Walter 1, Walworth.

    1891,born city of London, address: 12, Doddington Grove. RG12; Piece: 364; Folio: 9; Page: 11
    Louisa 50, widow, living on own means; Arthur 29, Soho; Henry 14, St Martins in the Fields; Emma 24, Lambeth; Lilian F 7 months, Newington.

    1901, 64, Peacock St, transcribed as LAYENBY, Louisa 56??, born London City; Henry 25, born Lambeth
    RG13; Piece: 383; Folio: 83; Page: 42.

    No death found yet but must be after 1904 as Louisa was in the workhouse then, "London, England, Workhouse Admission and Discharge Records, 1764-1930" records on Ancestry. See #77

    Louisa Lazenby has a son Arthur Spillane Lazenby born 1861/62, no Mother's maiden name on GRO database (suggests an illegitimate birth) Arthur is with his Mother in 1871 age 10.

    1911 RG14; Piece: 925. 266 Liverpool Buildings, Islington
    Charles Lazenby age 48, Blackfriars Surrey; wife Nelly 38 and 4 children. Also, Arthur Lazenby age 50 born Middlesex age 50.
    Charles and Nelly's marriage is on Ancestry where his father is named as JOHN.
    It is probable that Charles Lazenby and Arthur Lazenby are cousins. Charles Father John Lazenby, Arthur's Mother Louisa Lazenby, I believe John and Louisa are siblings. John, and his siblings (1851 census) were born HULL, except Louisa, the youngest, who was born St Bride.

    I'll post later regarding William/Henry Lazenby/Ashby/Ashford.
