    Default 1939 CENSUS - WOLDHAMS

    Please help.

Have been able to find in 1939 census
Horace Edward Woldhams born 1908 Hackney
with his mother (and NOT his wife as incorrectly quoted)
Frances Eva Woldhams (maiden name Hobney) born 1883 Bethnal Green

Horace married Lily Scott in 1932 West Ham
They had their only child Kenneth Edward Scott Woldhams in 1936 Essex

Have been unable to find in 1939 census
Lily and Kenneth, who are presumably together, mother and son

    Lily dies in 1987 Norwich
    Horace dies in 1989 Norwich
So they are still together as husband and wife

Kenneth marries in 1959 in Southend

    Thank you for your help.

I presume you've noticed that one record for Horace's household has been redacted. That could be either Lily or Kenneth.
Also, I've found from studying other 1939 records that sometimes people get omitted from a household and they're added on to end of that particular "piece". If you look at the bottom of a page image it should say something like 10 of 16, so if you go to page 16 you'll see other entries for roads in that block of 16 pages listed. Possibly also on the previous to last page as well. Often those entries are redacted which isn't helpful, but they could be young children who the enumerator omitted from the original household because they misunderstood the instructions.
I presumed you've checked that Lily and son couldn't be living with her parents or any of her siblings, and have been mis-indexed under their surname, or had Woodhams misspelt as Woodhams or Woldhams? Or with the surname minus the 's'.

For reference - Lily's death registration gives her date of birth as 1 February 1906.

Horace was living in Adderley Road, Harrow U.D. in 1939
