The FEAGAN - Peter Feagan - 1820 British Settler family tree, is sadly one that has not been well documented by it's descendants, with no family bible register seemingly in existence, and after a few generations all seem to have changed their surnames to FAGAN ... so this post is hopefully to raise awareness and get answers from descendants & researchers?

*from Mandy's Party passenger list 1819-1820 that sailed to Algoa Bay, South Africa:

9 Children:

Richard 13 , Mary 11, Thomas 12, Elizabeth 9,

Peter 5, Frances 7, William 3, Jane 6, Ann 3

1] We now know Peter Feagan is born in 1780 in the Parish of Lickbla, in or near the Market Town of Castle Pollard, County Westmeath, Ireland (... from his British military record)

2] But his life in England after 1801 is a mystery .. with no record of his marriage or any baptisms for any of his 9 children ... maybe being Roman Catholic in England was an issue?

3] We only know details about the lives of 3 of the 9 children born between 1807-1817 who married in South Africa, namely Richard Feagan, Frances Holmes nee Feagan & Peter Feagan Jnr. , ... how can we lose 6 - 1820 Settler children's' lives & records?

4] We know about the 2 children (nos. 10 & 11) born after arrival in South Africa 1820 & 1821 and their descendants namely Margaret Buckley nee Feagan & Louisa Keys nee Feagan.

5] But hope to learn about the other missing 6 children who arrived at Algoa Bay
- plus find their baptism records in England between 1807-1817
- plus who was their mother Mary?
