Apologies for any confusion - William Hallam's birthplace on the '51 Census was "Arnold, Notts" - as reflected in the baptismal record..
Next door is another Hallam family, and the Head, Henry Hallam, 35, Framework Knitter was born East Leake - which is also the birth place of William's father John Hallam.
Will check for possible connection."dyfal donc a dyr y garreg"

These are counties which are either adjacent to one another or very close to one another.
A site that you will find very useful is GENUKI:
https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng
Hopefully that link will take you to a nice colourful map of England showing the various counties, with their names abbreviated.
Nottingham is NTH; Warwichshire is WAR and Staffordshire is STS.
Another very useful page on GENUKI is their gazeteer:
https://www.genuki.org.uk/gazetteer
Insert "Arnold" into the place name serach and it will helpfully bring up a number of possibilities in England including one in Nottinghamshire:
