CWGC has an entry for 23043 Pte Murray Marks of the 2nd Bn. Royal Scots Fusiliers, age 24, d. 30 Jul 1916.
Son of M. and Minnie Marks of 162 Maryhill Rd, Glasgow. Thiepval memorial.
No Chelminski/y in the 1901 or 1911 for Glasgow or Scotland-wide.
27 hits in the 1901 for Glasgow for Marks, none for Marks and/or Minnie.
152 hits in the 1911 for Glasgow for Marks (on SP so index-only), no Minnie, Murray. Is a Murray Marks.
No hits for Chelminski/y in the whole of Scotland. If they retained the name, heaven knows what on earth the enumerator made of it...
Only 2 Chelminski/y births for Scotland - Christina, 1941, Malgorzataj 1944 Lanark, no marriages, no deaths.
Maybe Philip's Marks database will help.
