    Default DAVIDSON, Gideon b1902 - WW1

This "man" (he was only 15!) enlisted as Lewis MARKS and so is "mis-filed" in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363). There is an 1898 birth for a Louis MARKS, so perhaps they knew each other?

Gideon DAVIDSON enlisted with the Manchester Regt on 16 October 1916, declared age 18y.
    Regt No: 45245.
Home: 22 Vernon Street, Hightown, Manchester.
    Father: Copel? Espel?

Posted in November 1916, but may not have been sent abroad.
"Found out" in March 1917 when he declared his true name before a Lincolnshire JP.
    Discharged August 1917.
(His birth is registered Q1 1902 Prestwich)
