    Default Rufus MARSHALL b1839 Mil Service 1859-1880

    Filed in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363) although he would have been in his 70's when WW1 started:

    Rufus MARSHALL joined the Army Service Corps on 15 August 1859, age 20y, born Mirfield, Dewsbury, Yorkshire. Regt No: 1547.
    Served his 21 years until discharge in 1880.
    Address on discharge: JAMES MARSHALL (a brother? father?) in New Scarborough (?), Yorkshire.

    I think I've found him in the 1881. He's living with a brother, Fred Marshall, sis in law Harriet, and their kids, and is shown as a baker out of employ. Born abt 1841 Mirfield. In the 1851, he's 10 and living with parents James & Nancy in Mirfield. Siblings include both William and James.
