Spike Island

Hello

I am researching the Lyons family whom I believe lived in Cork, Ireland before coming to Canada.
In particular
William Lyons b. 1851 or 1854 to William and Mary Lyons. All it says on his Canadian marriage license to Rose Ann Hance is that he came from Summerville.
I have a picture of either him or his father wearing a uniform that looks very similar to the uniforms worn by the military on Spike Island.
I have searched Ancestry, Family Tree and Find my Past to no avail. There was a couple of hints came up saying that he was born in Ireland and died in the US. I haven't found the migration or immigration papers for hm.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Would you just confirm that those places are in Canada? There's very often more than one place with the same name, but in a different country!
