I have been researching my ancestors who were members of the British Army in the nineteenth century. So far, I have been able to locate some service/muster/payroll information for soldiers in the 19th Lancers, 8th Hussars, 1st Royal Dragoons, and 11th Regiment of Foot. My ancestors in the 11th Regiment remained in Sydney when the regiment finished their service and returned to England in 1857.
I will be posting in another section a question about desertion.
Thanks, Helen

Welcome to the British-Genealogy forums Helen.
I see you have very quickly found our way around and posted already.
It shouldn't be too long before you get some replies.
Oh, if you came to us from Forces War records reading this will explain our connection.
