    Default MARKHAM, Syrus 1897-1917 - WW1

Possibly difficult to find in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363) because he served as CYRUS JOHN:

Syrus MARKHAM enlisted (as Cyrus John) with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers (Regt No 44278) in August 1916, declared age 19y 5m, born Everton. Killed in action 1917.

    Home: Everton, Lancashire
Parents: John & Annie, both deceased by 1919. Annie's maiden name was HUGHES (Source: GRO)
Sisters: Emily FOULKES (c1890), Alice BURRELL (c1893), Annie GREENSLADE (c1895, married 1917) & Charlotte (c1900).

I am 99% certain that this is SYRUS - there is an 1897 (Liverpool) birth for a Cyrus John SYRED but no siblings. Syrus MARKHAM (Prescot) however shows mmn HUGHES - and the sisters' births are also registered under those names (Source: GRO).
