    Default Thomas Martin 1875 Birkenhead

Hi guys really confused here or I'm making silly mistakes!

I have Thomas Martin born 14 July 1875 Birkenhead according to 1939 reg!

Only record I can find on GRO site is for 1876 8a 462 mums name McMahon

Now I thought martinis father who is also Thomas married a Jayne Mcclaren! In 1877!

Am I missing something or making huge mistake?

    Thanks

Quite possibly, so let's start at the beginning.

I have Thomas Martin born 14 July 1875 Birkenhead according to 1939 reg!
Nowhere on the 1939 Register does it give a birthplace. So where have you obtained his birthplace from?

Exactly what criteria are you using for searching the GRO site? e.g. are you using a specific registration district name? Are you searching the whole year, or just September quarter, etc?
Because that registration with mmn McMahon was in December quarter.

The first thing to establish is exactly why you are one thousand per cent certain that the Thomas you've found in the 1939 Register is yours.

I agree with Emeltee, the most likely birth registration is Thomas McLAREN Sept qtr Birkenhead volume 8a page 483. His birth wouldn't be registered in 1876.
