    Default John Edward C MARJORAM 1898-1918 WW1

Mis-filed (as MARGROVE) in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363), this man's surname was obviously unknown to the Army clerks - he was enlisted as MARGRAM/MARGROVE and there are many variations in his Records. He served as John, but I am 99% certain that he is JOHN EDWARD C MARJORAM:

Enlisted in April 1915 at Inverkeithing, declaring age 19y 3m, born Bristol, home address Naval Base Mansions, Inverkeithing (so perhaps his father was a military/naval man?)
If I have the correct birth (Q1 1898) he was actually 17y.

He joined the Scottish Rifles (Regt No 18309) and was later transferred to the Royal Scots (Regt Nos 51443 & 59380). Missing, presumed dead in April 1918.

He married Annie McLaughlan CAMERON in Glasgow in March 1918. (Marriage found in Scottish records confirms surname MARJORAM.)
Sister: Mrs Louisa JOHNSTON/JOHNSTONE - Dundee.

CWGC have him as 59380 Private John Marjoram of the Royal Scots of 12 Bn Royal Scots, aged 20, died 25 Apr 1918. Husband of Annie Marjoram of 24 Market St East Glasgow.

He's on the Tyne Cot Memorial, so they either didn't find him or he's unidentified and buried under a "Known unto God" stone.

There's only 2 other Marjorams - 11728 Sgt JE of the Royal Berkshires and 4991 Private Jeremiah of the Royal Irish Fusiliers.

His medal card (which mentions both regiments) only lists the Victory & British, so he didn't actually arrive at the Front until 1916.

Can't find him in the 1901 or 1911... Scotlands People is claiming that there's no Marjorams in Scotland for the 1911, so they could have been service folk.
