    Default CASWELL, Marshall 1885-1915 - WW1

This man joined the Army as Harry MARSHALL, so is mis-filed in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363)

Marshall CASWELL, Labourer, enlisted with the Royal Regt of Artillery in June 1906, declaring his name as Harry MARSHALL & his age as 18y 2m (he was 20 - born 1885). He served as Gunner 42316 RFA.

He moved to the Reserve in 1909, was mobilized 5 August 1914 and married 22 August 1914. (In order to receive her allowance, his wife had to prove that the wedding had been planned before war was declared.) Killed in action April 1915 (body exhumed & re-buried at Tyne Cot, Passchendale - probably as MARSHALL).

    Brother: Alfred
Wife: Lena EMMERSON (re-married BRYAN, 1918)
