    Default Help reading service records

    Hi everyone,

Would anyone be able to help me read these service records?
My knowledge of the marines is practically none existent so all of the abbreviations mean nothing to me.
    Thanks in advance

    Welcome to the British-Genealogy forums
Well this is a list of abbreviations used by the Royal marines but it doesn't seem to help with what you have

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can help

Thank you so much for your reply and for the welcome!
It’s just my luck that none of the abbreviations appears on the site! Although I did learn that he could swim 40 yards and float for 3 minutes.

i think that it's 45 Commando, said as Four Five Commando, based at RM Condor, near Arbroath.

Thank you for taking the time to reply simmo1 and Peter Nicholl. With any luck i should be able to trace where 45 Commando were during the dates given and what he was up to. Thank you so much

The last item implies it was National service, if you did not know that already.
