Hi
Possibly the only way you are going to know this man's precise service details is to get his service record which is still held by the MoD. However what information you receive is reliant upon your or others relationship to him and his date of death. This 'sticky' explains and gives a link where you can download the application forms. You will need to know his date of birth, have a copy of his death certificate and pay 30 pounds. The T in his service number indicates he served in the Transport
He was declared prisoner of war in 1941 and repatriated at the end of 1943. There are 3 documents re these events on the Forces War Records site but don't have any personal details.
The National Archives have war diaries but I think you need to start with his service record because the diaries generally don't name the lower ranks.

Can't help with Norway 1945 but the nephew might be interested in details from earlier in 1940

googling "Norway liberation May 1945" (which I guess anybody can do) - has given me this

'Operation Doomsday' seems to be the relevant name
