Thread: Hello

    Default Hello

My name is Myles, I am researching my immediate ancestors - concentrating on my father's side at the moment.

Though I grew up with him he was always a mystery to me - very recently I started seeking some answers and have found quite a few surprises but I still have more questions than answers.

I am particularly interested in my grandmother and aunts at the moment.

The search has taken me from South Africa to Canada, with Scotland, Cheshire and Lancashire as points of origin - though only online.

I have found travel records particularly helpful - it was through these that I worked out that my grandmother didn't die in childbirth as I had been told, but lived on to have two more children and to outlive my grandfather.

Of course, I can't actually be certain that was my grandmother - my father was said to have been born in 1915, which is an awkward sort of a year for birth records as well as raising certain logistical questions...

    Welcome to the British-Genealogy forums.
I see you have already posted a question about your grandmother here https://www.british-genealogy.com/th...berg-Cape-1914
So for anybody wishing to help please post on the other thread so we don
t get duplication of information which can be very frustrating.
