    Default Punjab Volunteer Rifles

Alfred Marshal Thom born 1886 in Aberdeen, who left school at the age of 15 and took an Engineering apprenticeship in Aberdeen and held an appointment in India 1906 to 1911 serving in the Punjab Volunteer Rifles. Is there anywhere I can find records of his time spent in India and in the Punjab Rifles

Findmypast has some of his record. First attested 1902, dismissed 1903 due to lying about his age. Service number 8797 then I think he may have joined up again in Cork receiving another number but you need to confirm this is him. from the little I read I saw only a brief reference to service in India.
The National Archives has war diaries for WW1 and WW11. I wonder if they have something similar for India? If they do it would most likely be general information without reference to specific people.
