    Default SMKR acronym

    Hi,
My father served in WW2 and on his Notice of Impending Release in 1946 his trade on enlistment was Plumber and his Service Trade was listed as S.M.K.R

Does anyone know what his stands for please?

This is going to sound daft but he wasn't a Sergeant Major in the Kings Regiment was he?

    Thank you for the reply.
It's not daft but unfortunately not. He was in the REME and qualified as a Tinsmith, so I suspect it is related to a qualification achieved from course he attended whilst in the army.
