Good evening I am currently researching the Loynton Family on behalf of a friend of mine who is directly related to Samson Thomas Loynton born in 1892.
Samson was a Gunner in the First World War, serving with the Royal Garrison Artillery.
I would be most grateful for any help in researching his army career in more detail, together with how to access any replica medals he may have had. Also for more information on the Royal Garrison Artillery.
Many thanks
Theresa

Unfortunately 60% plus of WW1 service records were destroyed by bombing/fire in WW11 and I can't find a record for this man so it looks like his was one of those destroyed. ancestry and Findmypast are the pay per view companies licensed to hold these records.
He received the British and Victory medals and replicas can be bought from various sources including through our sponsors Forces War Records, here
He didn't receive the Star so did not serve overseas in 1914/15.
You can get a general idea of where he served by looking at the War diaries for his regiment on The National Archives site here
