Default Abbreviations on WW2 service records: Signals

I am in the process of transcribing my father in law's WW2 service records. He was a dispatch rider with the Royal Signals. He left the UK on 30/04/1945 and was then in Berlin from 01/06/1945.
There are then 2 entries that I can't make sense of :-
19/11/45 to 24/12/45 : Attended No. 80 Junior Leaders course at 4STC and obtained result B
    24/12/45 : Appointed u/a (??) of Gtf P/A/L/Gd

I have no clue what either of these entries mean - would anyone be able to help me

    Thanks

    Hi
STC = Signal Training Centre. Found it on this site https://www.researchingww2.co.uk/ww2-...ions-acronyms/
I haven't looked for the others yet

    Hi

Can you post a crop of this line - 24/12/45 : Appointed u/a (??) of Gtf P/A/L/Gd ? Easier to see in context.
    u/a may be u/p - unpaid
P/A/L/Gd - paid acting Lance ?, are you sure it is Gd?

    Hi,

Here's a photo of the section that I can't read - it's the last two lines I could do with some help with.

    Thanks

I think the u/a maybe unattached but I am not sure

    Hi

I think it reads Apptd U/A & Gtd P/A/L/Cpl = Appointed unattached and granted paid acting lance corporal
