bizarre - Ancestry is letting me look at a person's baptism record but not his service record with the Canadian Expeditionary Force !

thanks. That seems even more bizarre - I thought this free access was to do with commemoration of WW1 ?

I wonder if the Canadian version of Ancestry is running a similar offer?
Those records may be available on that site.
    TOTAL SPECULATION.

Not even sure if one would be allowed to download stuff if one is outside the region even though it is free access.

You can also access Australian and New Zealand military records as well as UK ones this weekend in the Ancestry UK offer.
