    Default Photo dating Crewe

Hi, I was wondering if anybody might have any ideas on a rough date for this photograph?

I know the couple are in Salvation Army uniforms, but looking for a general idea of the date to make an ID.

I would be most grateful for any help.

According to FMP, Mill Street is in Monks Coppenhall parish, so I've (allegedly) checked all the likely Richards living in Monks Coppenhall in the 1891, 1991, and 1911 census. By 'likely', I mean male, and at least eighteen years old. Found zilch.

I can only find one directory post-1911 directory (Kellys 1914) at
    http://specialcollections.le.ac.uk/d...on/p16445coll4

No Richards listed in the commercial section. I did try to look for either 64 Mill Street or something along the lines of 'photographer' but starting going cross-eyed. If you want to look, the commercial list begins on page 294 of the directory but page 307 of the images which are listed on the right-hand side of the page.

The Salvation Army has a heritage centre and may be able to help identify the uniform. The mans style of hat may narrow down the era.

    Northwich Guardian - Saturday 16 August 1890

Advert for Crewe Photographic Company of 2 Mill Street Crewe

Company first registered and applying for investors
Manchester Evening News - Saturday 29 May 1886

The company was wound up in March 1903...maybe this is linked or a red herring
