    Default Ageing quickly

I have a family on the 1861 and 1871 Census where the parents age 20 and 22 years in the 10 years between each census. The four children are the same ages give or take a year, but the parents jump from 30 and 33 years old to 50 and 55 years old......

John has died before the 1881 Census but Sarah is given as 63 years old on that one.

I have had variations before but that is a new extreme for me, I just thought I would post it as a point of interest. If anyone wants to check it is John and Sarah Sullivan, Lower Rushall Street, Walsall

That 10 year gap in the census is indeed notorious for its variation in length - but I must admit that 10 years are a bit excessive!
Do you have their birth certificates?

They are both born prior to 1837
