Default 25% off Ancestry "Premium" - 12 month

offer ends midnight Tuesday 16th October. £89.99 instead of £119.99. UK & Irish records ONLY (I think). 12 months.

will renew at full price unless you cancel. An email to me by Ancestry, they didn't say there was a special offer code.

    Useful. Thanks for posting.

Actually I think it's £59.99 for UK premium membership.

I see - in which case I am confused as to what the offer is. Paying £89 for something that should only cost £59 doesn't seem a good deal !

I meant the discounted price was £59.99.

Now you've posted that screenshot, it looks as if they have two different offers on the go. I googled "89.99 site:ancestry.co.uk" and got

Ancestry co dot uk website is weird.
You're only given a choice of signing up for a month or six months.
'Premium' which consists of just UK and Ireland records is currently showing as £69.99 for six months, while 'Worldwide' is £99.99.
Ancestry dot com is also only showing one or six monthly subs. Are they hoping people wil just see the higher amount and think it's for twelve months?

Interesting. If I want to upgrade to Worldwide from my current (12 month) Premium, they will charge me the full price of £179.99, though I get a refund of £89.99 on the unused portion of the Premium. Guess who's likely to be cancelling the latter, and signing up for that half-price offer (the wonderful) Peter's found.

I wonder if perhaps the better offers are for "new" customers, though I'm not sure of the definition of new - can a 'lapsed' customer be a new customer ?

Thank you Peter. Worked a treat.
I had a sub with ancestry for years up until 6 months ago when I decided to try FMP again but missed having an ancestry account so I followed Peter's instructions and ancestry gave me the discounted price.
So not only for those who have never been a member but also for 'lapsed customers' wimsey

My current Worldwide sub is due for renewal in December, I'm going to try unticking automatic renewal and subscribing using a different email address, maybe my husband's. I suppose though that if I'm successful I'll lose access to my messages and DNA in my current sub????? Anyone know?
