Hi all,

The Brogden company spread its wings beyond its homeland, sending labourers across the oceans to New Zealand in 1872 and 1873. I am attempting to trace who they sent and where they ended up, as they did not all stay in New Zealand. I have passenger lists for 11 of the 15 ships sent, while the final four unhelpfully include the information "xx for Brogdens".

Having begun in New Zealand, I am interested to see if any records of the immigration scheme survive in the UK. I have searched the National Archives catalogue, and spent time in the records of the NLW. Is there anywhere else I should be searching for records of a private company involved in the construction of railways at home and abroad?

Thanks!
Delwyn
