    Default Cannot locate marriage

I have not been able to bring up a marriage between Charlotte May White (DOB 19 Mar 1892) and James W Rhodes (DOB 23 Jun 1875)

In 1939 they are shown as living in Nottingham with their two sons. There are also 3 other people who I believe are their living daughters.

Is anyone able to point me to the relevant document?

It looks like James married Martha Hunter A BALDWIN in 1898 at Wycombe, Bucks who he may not have divorced. He had a daughter Frances with her and when Frances married in 1920 she names her father as James W occupation Gardener which fits the other records of James. He and Charlotte may not have married.

Looks like Martha Rhodes remarried in 1923 registered Brentford, Middlesex to Richard Day so assume they did divorce. No sign of James marrying Charlotte.

Thank you for the help, I think I had guessed that was the case but hoped not.

Martha started her petition for divorce in 1920.

There are a number of newspaper articles about the case in the Nottinghamshire newspapers in 1922, perhaps someone has access.
