    Default Brett family history

My name is Dave and i am a direct descendent of a William Britt who is buried in Newfoundland. His headstone says he was born in Christchurch, Hants, England in 1790 but this has led me to a brick wall. Any help would be appreciated as I have been researching for years with no luck.

Welcome to the British-Genealogy forums Dave
I have moved this thread from the Introduce Yourself forum to the Brickwall forum because the Introduce Yourself forum is for doing just that and won't generate the attention it needs.
    Good luck with your search

I have a complete family history from William to present but would like to get back past him. As far as I can learn he arrived in Nfld between 1800 and 1810

Thanks for the info however this doesn't appear to be the right one as my William left England between 1800 and 1810 and never returned that I know of. According to family oral history he came as a "cabin boy" and settled In Newfoundland. I was led to believe that he was young when he arrived but he did have two children christened by 1821. It is also strange that the names Piercy or Rebecka doesn't appear anywhere else in the family
