    Default Henry SEWELL b c1888 Gravesend - WW1

A few pages mis-filed in the MAR section of the WW1 Service Records (WO 363):

Henry SEWELL joined the Royal West Kents on 19 June 1906, declared age 18y 2m, born Gravesend.
Taken POW during the Great War (possibly 1917), discharged 1920.

    No useful genealogical info.

    Reached the Front 15.8.14

    POW

Anc has a service record for him. Already in RWK when he attested.
Married Ethel Benstead 25 Dec 1911 in Christchurch, Milton, Kent
Mother Elizabeth. 1 child mentioned - Harold Victor.

There's a page about his POW time. Captures Neuve Chapell, last internment in Holland (he was lucky - a LOT of the soldiers of both sides interned in Holland died in the Great Flu epidemic).

He has 3 ref numbers on the Red Cross WW1 POW site HERE.
. They are PA 972, PA 7311, PA 14500. There's endless scrolling involved in finding the info, so I'm giving up for the moment.
