Obviously you wont know if it is correct or not unless you buy the certificate and see her father's matches. One way to avoid spending money on the wrong certificate is when ordering on line from the GRO is to "tick" the NO box when asks you if you have the GRO references, and then next page that you are presented with, in part looks like this:




You can then specify her father's name as well as Florence's and then if there is a different father you will get a refund on the basis that the information does not match.

When was Thelma born? What surname did Thelma have?

There is a birth registered at Birmingham in the June quarter of 1926 for a Thelma LONGLAND with mother's maiden name SMART vol 6d oage 375 and there is a marriage registered in Walsall in Dec qtr 1918 between Florence M SMART and Richard W LONGLAND. There are other LONGLAND/SMART births from 1919 to 1932.

many thanks everyone still trying to solve this puzzle .there is a Florence m smart that married a longland but as far as I know my Florence didn't have a middle name .everything else connects though ,so I think I will order certificates.
