I can see Lilian and her son, Jean F Weets in the 1939 census. Lilian is now Lilian FELDON, and this would be her marriage:
    Marriages Jun 1929
Weets Lilian, Charles Feldon Middlesbro' 9d 1260

    20 Colchester Road , Stockton R.D., Durham
Lilian born 15th Sept 1899, married, an alternative name for her is Plews (probably she married Mr Plews after 1939) Jean F Weets born 11th July 1917.

    There's also a Charles W Feldon in the house born Dec 18th, 1922, but I don't think he's Lilian's son.
    Births Dec 1922
Feldon Charles W, MMN Martino Guisbro' 9d 795

    Marriages Dec 1920
Feldon Charles, Mary Martin Guisbro' 9d 1227

    Marriages Dec 1959
FELDON Lilian, Wilfred PLEWS Cleveland 1b 1081

If you don't have the marriage certificate, you really need it to have a hope of tracing Jean.

Thanks for your response. I thought about getting the marriage certificate, but I suspect Jean his dad was not British so I don't think it would be a lot of help

Obtaining marriage and birth certificates is fundamental.
