Default Help with transcription of occupation

In the 1901 census for Walthamstow I can't read the occupation listed for Martha Johnson born 1831 in Chediston, Suffolk. The citation details are RG13, Piece 1634, Folio 55 and Page 37.

Can anyone help with this silly detail please?

    Thank you!

FMP have it transcribed as chemist. The original hand-written entry appears to say chymist, which is the archaic spelling for chemist!

Chemist? Wow! I think, to be honest, it is unlikely given what else I know about her and previous/other occupations throughout her life. I think this must, therefore, be an enumerator's error and refers to the head of household below hers. I suppose I can double check this by finding him in the 1911 and seeing what his occupation was then.

    Thanks!!

    Yep, good thinking Audrey.

    In the 1891 Census George Langworthy is a chemist's assistant! RG12 Piece 1718 Folio 13 Page 20
