You would need to look at parish records to find this information did he have children as that's all that's coming up on Family Search.
I Search for Thomas Spencer born Winchcomb, Gloucester, England, years 1595 - 1600 I only got the following

Thomae Spencer father of Johan Spencer, 21 OCT 1670, Christening Place WINCHCOMB,GLOUCESTER,ENGLAND

Tho Spencer father of Margaretta Spencer, 30 JAN 1675, Christening Place WINCHCOMB,GLOUCESTER,ENGLAND

Thomae Spencer father of Thom Spencer, 21 OCT 1670, Christening Place WINCHCOMB,GLOUCESTER,ENGLAND

Thomae Spencer father of Alicea Spencer, 23 SEP 1672, Christening Place WINCHCOMB,GLOUCESTER,ENGLAND

have you got these children in your family for Thomas .

Question why would he be called Thomas Spencer if his father was called Sir Thomas Bart Yarton if this was his father.

Check out Arthur Collins 1720 tome "The Baronetage of England" - can be found on google books. Haven't had time to check in detail.

Wikipedia has Thomas Spencer, first baronet Yarnton, born 1586!!

When I did a search for "Thomas Spencer, first baronet Yarnton, born 1586" on Wikipedia.

    I got this message -

"Did you mean: Thomas Spencer first baronet Yangon born 1586" NO I didn't mean that

The page "Thomas Spencer, first baronet Yarnton, born 1586" does not exist. You can ask for it to be created, but consider checking the search result below to see whether the topic is already covered.

My search key was "thomas spencer 1st baronet yarnton" which delivered

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_Th...r,_1st_Baronet

Only read Arthur Collins' 1720 tome briefly, which identified a Thomas as one of 7 or so children to Sir William Spencer. Hadn't time (chapel taking precedence) to check for possible birth date.

Thank you all for responding. It seams i am not the only one running into this, a problem i also have is ancestory does not give me access to the UK forums, it re directs me to the American forums. Forgive me if i should have included the following info in my first thread i sometimes second guess myself and do not want to give unnecessary info. My Thomas Spencer left England and came to Berwick maine during the great puritian migration. some websites have Thomas going back to England and marrying Patiance Chadborne then going back to Berwick maine. Patiance father was already here in berwick maine. all there children were born in Maine. alot of times on my end this thomas spencer is confused with a thomas spencer of the 4 brothers fame, there father was geard spencer who i belive is of royal ancestory. i think at once site they someone used the suffix JR with my Thomas Spencer. on Wiki Tree a member posted this on Thomas profile page since it was being linked to the Thomas Spencer of 4 brother fame and caused quiet a stir :: Hi, I have proof and confirmation via chr. records, that the children baptized at Eastwick, Hertfordshire , (not Herford)are an offshoot of the Cople Spencer's via this line. Thomas Spencer c.Oct 8 , 1598 , is son of John Spencer c. 24 Jun 1574, who was son of Robert Spencer and Rose Cokain...or it could be the other Thomas Spencer c. 28 Mar. 1597 at Eastwick, St. Albans Parish Hertford. They are 1st couisins. This Thomas was son of William Spencer Esq. c. 03 sept. 1576, he being son of the same Robert Spencer mentioned above...................... I tried d to contact the author however he seams to have disapered. reading this i get a bit confused, perhaps its me? Sir Thomas Yarton Bar Spencer is where Ancestory.com pointed me as to my Thomas Spencer father which i googled and could not get any proof that Sir Thomas had a son named Thomas, i belive i found he had 1 child a girl.

Cannot see a birth date for Sir Thomas, 1st Baronet, Yarnton in Arthur Collins' work. Confirms marriage to "Margaret, daughter of Richard Branthwait, Searjent at the Law". Children named as eldest William, Kt and Bart, John, Thomas, Richard, Edward, Alice, Anne, Margaret and Catherine.

Confirms death as 16 Aug 1622 - age not identified.

    Hello Predman68,

    Welcome to British-Genealogy.

Forgive me if i should have included the following info in my first thread i sometimes second guess myself and do not want to give unnecessary info
Basically you can never give too much information. The more you tell us, the less time people waste duplicating your research and telling you stuff you already know.

As Sandyhall has said, for this period in time you are mainly relying on parish records which began in 1538 though in some parishes the earliest registers begin in 1558. In the intervening years, registers have been lost in church fires, nibbled at by mice, succumbed to damp, stolen, etc.
Most of the early registers that still exist are now deposited in county archives/record offices. I have absolutely no idea of how many of those early registers are available on the internet - usually only as 'browseable' images because you need someone with specialist knowledge to transcribe them. OCR has enough trouble with print so it would never cope with Old English.

Another drawback to records prior to about 1700 is that the details in the PRs are often minimal to say the least. 'Baptised ye 16 April 1675 William, son of William Smith. Died ye 20 April 1675 William Smith.' So is that the father or the son of the baptismal entry, or another William who's not related? Take your pick.

I think first of all you need to check with Gloucestershire Archives if the PRs for Winchcombe for the late 1500s exist. If so, then depending how much you want to prove a connection, hire a researcher (should be cheaper than you flying over from Maine) to check the registers plus any other parish records they can find. However be prepared for them to report back that they could find nothing.
