    Thank you everyone - again!

I hadn't spotted the little 'g' indicating grand-daughter so that helps. I had found the possible birth of Charlotte to Charles and Amy and I suppose Amy must, therefore, be the daughter of Martha Taylor. I will investigate the various records further to satisfy myself so far as is possible.

Charlotte Hilton, aged 14, born South Walsham, is in the same family.

No birth registration in Blofield registration district (the one for South Walsham) for a William Henry 1850 +/- 2 years.

Also no burial for Amy Hilton in South Walsham 1849 to 1852.

Oops. Should obviously have been wearing my new reading glasses when I looked at the PR.

Can't check the old 'full' GRO Index on FMP as it's down for maintenance, but there's no Amy Hilton death registration December quarter 1850/March quarter 1851 Blofield registration district (the one for South Walsham) or Blything registration district (the one for Halesworth, where Charlotte was living in the 1851 census) on FreeBMD or the GRO Historical deaths index. Doesn't seem to be one for an Amy Hilton/Hylton anywhere in England or Wales for those two quarters.
