I'll just step in here and say that we simply don't allow information about living people to be posted on the forum.
A post here to say that you have the required surname and then following that with private messaging is ok but do be careful. I am probably preaching to the choir here but please make sure you don't accidentally give away personal stuff - and remember that even email is NOT secureSadly, our dear friend Ann (alias Ladkyis) passed away on Thursday, 26th. December, 2019.

Thank you for your concern, no personal information show ever be disclosed, all is required is the estimate ethnicity. no names just the break down to see how its spread across the uk. nothing serious. just a map in affect.

Perkins One-Name Study
Good evening...
Go to the website of the Guild of One-Name Studies https://one-name.org/ and enter PERKINS in the search box. You will find that the surname is now registered as a One-Name Study. You can then contact the owner of the Study, possibly to the great benefit of you both.
Off to roost.

Now registered lol. Thank you. It's not that I wouldn't like to study all the variations of Perkins it's just the task is so huge for just one person. Like a lot of people doing this, their own family trees have so many different surnames of there own without going down the road of unpicking every variation. At the last count I have over 100 + surnames in my tree which I've traced most back as far as I can safely go. I really appreciate your help. Thank you

Perkins DNA Studies/Projects
Hello again
A bit of rooting around has turned up some Perkins DNA projects, which might be of interest: https://www.familytreedna.com/groups...-perkins/about
And then there is this one, based in Switzerland: https://www.igenea.com/en/surname-pr...p/perkins-2798 This seems to have a lot of academic backing, but I have not investigated thoroughly.
This Perkins page also showed up: https://perkinsresearch.com/Dna.html, and it is UK-based.
I suggested contacting the owner of the Guild Perkins' ONS because a one-name study now often includes DNA testing and analysis. Anyone who has a lot of Perkins info will be delighted to hear from you - and you from them(?). Contact is a way of moving the research forward.
Hope you can find something useful here - let us know how you get on.
Off to roost.
