I'm trying to find the death record of Alexander Richard Minney. He was a gunner in RAF Volunteer Reserve. No. 938925 died m27 Sept 1942. I've found his RAF record here but no details of how or where he died. He was roughly 24 when he died. I would appreciate any help. I've been trying to find details for about 10 years.
Thanks

Hello heathere and welcome to Brit-Gen.
There is a death record in the GRO Index as follows:
MINNEY Alexander Richard 1942 S Qtr Witney Vol 03A Page 1449, age at death 24
You can order a downloadable pdf copy of the death certificate for £6, direct from GRO.

Hi Alma I've got that record thanks trying to find how and where he died. Someone said that his body was never recovered but as you say there is a grave.

Hi eisinore. Tried GRO Index but I keep getting no matching results. Will that also tell me how and where he died as someone said his body wasn't recovered but there is a grave in Kettering, I've also been told that he served in Egypt or Turkey, Would I be abler to find out that?

The reference I gave in #2 is what you will see if you complete a successful search. When you go through the search process, make sure you check the 'death' option and also the 'gender' option.
However, it won't give you any more details. You need to purchase the death certificate, which should state the cause and place of death (if known).

Yes, you can apply for his service record. Which forms you complete will depend upon whether you are next of kin (or have the permission of next of kin) or unrelated. You will need a copy of the death certificate and the fee is £30. Below is a link to the guidance and forms you need to complete:

Thanks Peter I've just applied for his death certificate.
I've just put a post on for help for my father's service record. So would that be the same?
