Hi, I am searching for a death, burial or divorce record for Ethel Irene Burge, nee Drummond. Born in Jhelum 11.04.85 to William Augustus Wallace Drummond and Catharine Camela, also spelled Camilla or even Pamela. I can find the burial records for Ethel's parents but not her. She was married to my great great uncle, Cecil Burge, on 17 April 1922 and they were based at Delhi and Shimla, plus Lawrence school in Sanawar until the war. Cecil was called up in 1941 and was based at GHQ India, which I presume is Delhi. Family rumour says Ethel died in India. They were both recorded on ships travelling to Britain and then back to India in 1936. In April 1949 Cecil alone travelled back to the UK. He remarried in 1950 in England. As I am unable to find a death record at this time I've started to think that maybe Cecil abandoned Ethel in India. Can anyone help with tracking a death in India between 1936 and 1949, or since then if she was abandoned?
