    WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE’ IS TO RETURN TO BBC ONE SCREENS FOR ITS 15TH SERIES.



    The 15th BBC series of the BAFTA wining programme Who Do You Think You Are? will feature top celebs from the worlds of film, TV, sport, music and comedy, it has been revealed. The genealogy show returns to the BBC in the Summer 2018 with tales of affairs, suffragettes, and wartime comedians, with shocking discoveries, laughter and tears along the way.

    WDYTYA? production company Wall to Wall revealed that the show's latest celebrity line-up will consist of eight stars: multi-awarding winning actor Olivia Colman, musician, DJ, fashion designer and British icon Boy George, Strictly Come Dancing's head judge Shirley Ballas, comedian and Not Going Out actor Lee Mack, presenter and former JLS member Marvin Humes, barrister and television personality Robert 'Judge' Rinder, Coronation Street and Our Girl star Michelle Keegan and gold medal winning Paralympian Jonnie Peacock.

    The latest series will see the celebrities travelling to Genoa, India, Jamaica, South Africa and Latvia, uncovering stories of the First World War frontlines, the East India Company, adultery, asylums and more.

    Michelle Keegan’s episode will launch the new series as part of the “Hear Her” season on the BBC, marking the centenary of women getting the vote by showcasing female voices.

    Here is an introduction to the latest lot of celebrities to feature in the new 15th series.

    Michelle Keegan

    Michelle Keegan (born 3 June 1987) is an English actress. She is best known for portraying Tina McIntyre in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street between 2008 and 2014. In 2016, she was cast in the lead role of Corporal Georgie Lane in the BBC drama series Our Girl. Keegan also starred as Tracy in Ordinary Lies (2015) and as Tina in Tina and Bobby (2017).
    In this episode Michelle goes from onscreen soldier to military historian as she discovers her family's strong connections to Gibraltar, a fortress during the Second World War. The actor also unearths a special connection to Emmeline Pankhurst, leader of the suffragettes.

    Olivia Colman

    Sarah Caroline Olivia Colman (born 30 January 1974) is an English actress. Colman first came to prominence for her supporting role as Sophie Chapman in the Channel 4 comedy series Peep Show (2003–2015). Her other TV comedy roles include Green Wing (2004–2006), Beautiful People (2008–2009), Rev. (2010–2014) and Twenty Twelve (2011–2012). She also played various roles in That Mitchell and Webb Look (2006–2008)
    In this episode Olivia travels to India to uncover a story involving the East India Company and a brave little girl making a lonely sea journey to England.

    Boy George

    Boy George (born George Alan O'Dowd; 14 June 1961) is an English singer, songwriter, DJ and fashion designer. He is the lead singer of the pop band Culture Club. At the height of the band's fame, during the 1980s, they recorded global hit songs such as "Karma Chameleon", "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" and "Time (Clock of the Heart)"
    In this episode George will trace his roots to Ireland, uncovering mysteries in his family tree and learn more about his "mum's mother" found "wandering the streets" as a child.

    Lee Mack

    Lee Gordon McKillop (born 4 August 1968), known as Lee Mack, is an English comedian and actor best known for writing and starring in the sitcom Not Going Out. He is also known for being a team captain on the BBC One comedy panel show Would I Lie to You?, hosting the Sky1 panel show Duck Quacks Don't Echo and for presenting the show They Think It's All Over.
    In this episode Lee will discover more from his Great Grandfather who served in the First World War after joining one of the Pal’s Battalions from Liverpool.

    Shirley Ballas

    Shirley Ballas (formerly Stopford; born 1960) is an English ballroom dancer, dance teacher, and dance adjudicator from Wallasey, Merseyside who specialises in the International Latin division, where she won several championship titles. In 2017, Ballas became the head judge on the BBC TV show, Strictly Come Dancing, replacing Len Goodman.
    In this episode Shirley heads to South Africa and it's been said she "makes a massive discovery".

    Marvin Humes

    Marvin Richard James Humes (born 18 March 1985) is an English singer, disc jockey, tv presenter and radio host. He is best known as a former member of the boyband JLS, the runner-up boyband to Alexandra Burke in the fifth series of The X Factor. After a successful five years, JLS split in December 2013.
    In this episode Marvin travels to Jamaica to traces his father's family line.


    Robert 'Judge' Rinder

    Robert Rinder (born 31 May 1978), also known as Judge Rinder, is an English criminal law barrister and television personality. He is best known for his role on the reality courtroom series Judge Rinder.
    In this episode Robert travels to Europe to explore how the Holocaust profoundly shaped his family's history.

    Jonnie Peacock

    Jonathan Peacock, MBE (born 28 May 1993) is an English sprint runner. An amputee, Peacock won gold at the 2012 Summer Paralympics and 2016 Summer Paralympics, representing Great Britain in the T44 men's 100 metres event.

    Colette Flight, executive producer for production company Wall to Wall, said: “Britain’s best loved stars are once again delving into their family trees, uncovering hidden secrets and solving mysteries.

    “The stories they unearth are revelatory, often unexpectedly humorous but always affecting.”

    It seems to be going down a well trodden path. You almost know the stories before they are revealed.

    I guess every story is different, in it's own way.

    Don't think I'll bother any more.
    Too many bones, too much sorrow, but until I am dead, there's always tomorrow.
