    Default Trying to identify this uniform!

    My grandfather served in the Royal Flying Corps and in one photo of his squadron, I see this Observer.
    Does anyone know what the uniform is, as I have never seen these chevrons before.
    I think his cap badge is Royal Naval Air Service. Thanks!

    There is a photo of a Lance Corporal here https://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/fo...eeve-insignia/ with a similar looking chevron. one of the posts lower down the thread IDs that as being due to the material used in making them
