Default Understanding part of a record.

    Hi All,

Manged to find my great grandfather on here.On his record, it states he was wounded and "Particulars furnished: Woolwich, 14/11/1917. What exactly does that mean, is that the date he arrived back in the UK after being injured or does it mean something else?

I would guess it means what it says. If you don't like "particulars furnished", an alternative phrase might be "details provided".

The Silver War Badge list says he was discharged on 28 November 1917 on account of wounds received.

Welcome to the British Genealogy Forum, Rebecca.
If you have come to us from FWR, the post HERE should explain any questions you have about their relationship to us.

His service record should give some (usually minimal) information about his wounds, but it might be worth checking to see whether he was injured seriously enough to merit a pension.

BTW you can't assume that everyone on here also has a subscription to FWR and can see the info that you are referring to. It makes it easier to help you with servicemen if you provide their name, rank, number and regiment if you know them so that we can check other sources.
