Hi, thank you for adding me to this site. I have been researching the Webb and Steer family, both connected to Hull and Grimsby fishing industry. Also researching Hemming family, fishing/docker and military history. I have managed to trace the Steer family back to Devon in particular William Steer who moved to Hull before settling in Grimsby. He owned a fishing smack Lily of Devon in the 1890s. I am looking forward to navigating through this site and hopefully finding more treasured history. I have already found a link to my great grandfather Thomas Webb, who was lost at sea on the Helcia, many thanks for the leads on the link.
