    Default R.A.F records/info

    hi my dad recently passed away and iam trying to find some info on his service or if anyone new him,his name was George william murphy,joined around 1948 on,as far as we know he was a ground engineer,we lots of old photos and a list in the album of stations he served at,but no service number
    stations served west kirby,fardington,melksham,ballykelly ni,chigwell,henesford,bukeburg germany,celle,wunstorf,luneburg,syli,soesteberg holland

    any help would be much appreciated thanks

    Welcome to the British-Genealogy forums
    I think you came to us from Forces War Records so reading this will explain the connection to the BG forums.

    Service records from 1921 on are still held by the MoD but they can be applied for at a cost of 30 pounds. You do not need a serivce number but you do need a copy of the death certificate.
    This 'sticky' explains and gives the link where you can download the application forms.

    You could also look at the Forces Reunited site as a possible way of finding people who may have served with him.
