What am I doing wrong??

Help, I am trying to find my dad's military records. When I put in his name it doesn't bring up anything close to him. There are lots of people with the same last name but none are my dad.

I can't remember exactly which regiment he was in (Derbyshire Yeomanry rings a bell) but surely I should be able to search by his name??

Anyone have any ideas?

The MOD has not yet released WW2 service records. There is a post about it at the top of this forum HERE.

Put simply, copies of the records can be bought (except by the servicefolk themselves who get copies free). You'll need a copy of his death certificate and 30 pounds. The link on that message will take you to the form you need to fill in.
