    Violet's birth cert may provide a clue as to the name change

    Added found this on ancestry

    Name: Violet Florence Griffin
    Baptism Age: 0
    Record Type: Baptism
    Birth Date: 30 Nov 1912
    Baptism Date: 8 Jan 1913
    Baptism Place: St Anne, Bermondsey, Southwark, England
    Father: George Henry Griffin (a labourer )
    Mother: Florence Minnie Griffin

    I haven't found any evidence of her marrying again in England.

    Just to update, Ive received the birth certs, and they seem to be the same family. Why the name change to Griffin I dont know but it sure is curious!

    Thank you for the update. I agree they seem to be the same couple. At the moment I've no idea why the name change , I did try to find out a possible reason when I first tumbled to the name change. I'll look into it further later on, and report back if I find anything.
