It's a long shot. I am looking for info on my father Thomas Fitzgerald from S. Ireland. He served in the RAF from 1943-1948 and I know he was posted to Ceylon in 43/44. After demob. he worked in the Gloster Aircraft Factory until it ceased business in the early 60's. We had some photographs but they've long since vanished unfortunately.

Hello DaveFitz,
Welcome to British-Genealogy.
Your father's service records are still held by the Ministry of Defence. Details of how to apply for them can be found here. You will also need to send thirty pounds and a copy of his death certificate.

Hi DaveFitz
I have a photo from those days (my dad was also with the RAF in Ceylon) - I can't work out how to upload it here, but have sent you a PM.
