    I haven't seen the original, but on the basis of macwil's interpretation and another look at the extract, how about Hook Norton, Oxon? (It looks to be written Hooknorton, Oxen.)

    The full ref will look like this
    Class: RG12; Piece: 2091; Folio: 33; Page: 6;
    or possibly this
    RG12/2091/33/6

    It can usually be found in the citation details of the record.

    Very good Arthurk. I concur.

    I just couldn't work out the county, even though the only one beginning with O is Oxfordshire. I'd forgotten it is often shortened to Oxon.

    Sorry for the belated response. Thanks very much macwil and arthurk. Hook norton Oxfordshire I wouldn’t have got that in a month of Sunday’s.

    Thanks again.
