    Hi Prouddaughter and welcome.

Forums such as this are an online meeting place for people with the same interests, in this case the hobby of genealogy. It does not contain records as such. For that you need to go to local record offices or subscribe to commercial genealogy sites. Here you will find friendly and well-informed people from all around the world who may be able to advise you where to look for things and how to go about it. You need to frame questions carefully and put them in the right section of the forum.

    Good luck

A warm welcome to British Genealogy. It sounds as if you have joined via Forces War Records, so please have a read of this thread

Welcome to the Brit-Gen forums Prouddaughter
What records are you hoping to find online? If WW1 they are licensed to Findmypast and ancestry.com which are both pay per view sites. If you are wanting WW11 service records they are still held by the MoD. You can apply for them at a cost of 30 pounds and you will need a copy of the person's death certificate. What information you receive for your money depends on when the person died. This 'sticky' explains.
If it is WW1 then if give give us the information you have (name. place and date of birth, parents etc) and someone will take a look to see what is to be found

When I fed ww2 british service records into a search engine, the very first result (ignoring adverts) was this
