Firstly I'll reply to Megan, that is a genius idea, if neither of them matches, nothing lost, so many thanks for that.

Now that is interesting and making me think that there are 2 George Roberts' in Uppingham, the one you've found baptised in Wing, is probably the one registered in Mar Qtr, and cannot be my Great Grand father as his dob is 7 May 1876, so maybe it is the one in the Jun Qtr that's of interest.
But, and it is a but, the Mar Qtr registration is George James Roberts, and he's the one who lives with his grandmother and aunt, no sign of any parents.
The June Qtr registration is George Roberts, mother's maiden name Mayes, and again I can't find any marriage, Roberts/Mayes.
