I’ve just received my grandfathers military record from the MOD... and I have no idea what any of it means. Or how to interpret it...

I’ve got my Grandads title and service number but how do I figure out the squadron he was part of? A good part of his record is redacted. The only info I can see is his date of engagement, release, promotions and unit(?).

Basically - how do I make sense of the unit information and locations and numbers?
